Camp Lejeune Marine? Call Your AL Lawyer. Now!

Allen Ritchie • July 22, 2022

Sick Marines (and other service personnel, workers, and their families) could collect money because of their time at Camp Lejeune. The reason is bad water on the base from the 1950s through the 1980s.

The money will not come without a legal fight. In fact, there have already been legal setbacks. I advise you to contact a lawyer, and I suggest an Alabama lawyer. More on that in a minute.

Here is what happened – The water at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina became contaminated with chemicals from 1953 until 1987. Service people, their families, and others drank, washed, and swam in that water. It is known that thousands of people who lived and worked at the base have become sick and even died, and perhaps a million people could be affected. My research shows an alarming increase in cancer rates and birth defects.

Here is what is changing: a statute of limitations in North Carolina says you cannot sue after ten years. Congress is likely, perhaps even this week, to pass a federal law that supersedes the state law and will let Marines, their families, and others sue for damages.

This new law, if passed, will have a time limit. So, you need to act now.

Remember – a troubled pregnancy, a disease manifesting years later, and even mental health problems could be the result of this toxic water.

Here is my strong suggestion. If you were on the base anytime from the 1950s through the 1980s, contact your LOCAL personal injury attorney. Though the work is concentrated in North Carolina, you can have an attorney right here who will look out for you. This personal attention will NOT cost you a dime more.
